The YTL Foundation Scholarship Programme is for students who wish to pursue their tertiary education
locally in public or private universities. Students who have finished their SPM, Matriculation, ‘A’ Levels or
other foundation programmes can apply. There are up to 30 scholarships awarded under this scholarship
programme every year.

1. Must come from a family that finds it a challenge to finance the tuition fees and living expenses
2. Must be a Malaysian citizen
3. Must be for full-time study
4. Must have good academic results

The Yeoh Tiong Lay Award
This award is for candidates displaying altruistic and leadership qualities in achievements alongside YTL values and high academic grades.
Students applying for this award should have secured an offer for an undergraduate degree programme from a top-rated local
or overseas university. Under this award, students can apply for any course they wish to pursue.
There are up to three places awarded every year.

How to Apply for YTL Foundation Scholarships
Please prepare the following documents that will be required to be uploaded in the application form.
1. A personal statement (essay) on ‘Why I deserve a YTL Foundation Scholarship’ (800-1000 words)
2. IC of applicant
3. IC of surety (working parent/guardian)
4. Copies of certificates (academic – all exams taken and extracurricular activities)
5. Offer letter from university
6. Fee letter
7. Income Tax return for working parent. If retired, please submit last return
8. Passport-size photo (to upload on first page of application form)
9. 2 Written referrals from teachers, lecturers or past employer/ supervisor
10. CV/Resume
